About Marcy Ongert and MO Editing
I'm Marcy Ongert, avid reader and owner of MO Editing. I came to professional editing late, after recognizing that writing and editing were integral to my previous professional positions and that I enjoyed editing the most.
Before becoming a professional editor, I worked in internal and community relations in the astronautics industry and wrote reports evaluating mortgage loan servicers for investors of mortgage-backed securities. I went to Wake Forest University School of Law and then practiced employment law, real estate law, personal injury, appellate law, and family law.
My prior jobs taught me how to comprehend dense texts. My work load trained me to be meticulous, logical, and curious—qualities that serve me well as an editor.
I’ve also done my fair share of waiting tables and odd jobs, positions that broadened my perspective. Now, as a freelance editor, I'm thrilled to put my diverse skills and experiences to work for you.
