I'm Marcy Ongert, an avid reader and the owner of MO Editing, where I offer professional copyediting services. I came to professional editing later in my career after realizing that writing and editing were integral to my past roles, and I found that I enjoyed editing the most.

Before becoming a freelance editor, I worked in internal and community relations within the astronautics industry, where I wrote reports evaluating mortgage loan servicers for investors in mortgage-backed securities. I attended Wake Forest University School of Law and practiced in various areas such as employment law, real estate law, personal injury, appellate law, and family law.

My previous positions equipped me with the skills to comprehend dense texts, while my workload trained me to be meticulous, logical, and curious—qualities that serve me well as an editor.

I’ve also experienced my fair share of waiting tables and odd jobs, which broadened my perspective. Now, as a freelance editor, I'm excited to apply my diverse skills and experiences to help you refine your writing.
